West Corporation’s Interactive Services segment just got a boost from the communication giant’s acquisition of PhoneTree, a leading provider of automated calling and messaging solutions. Not only will West absorb an innovative suite of automated reminder, alert and messaging products, it will also gain a foothold in the niche verticals where PhoneTree has long been thriving, including healthcare, faith-based organizations, government and utilities companies. PhoneTree’s operations will be integrated with West’s Interactive Services Healthcare business.
According to Skip Hanson, president of West’s Interactive Services segment, the move is a competitive step forward for the company that will unleash new benefits to West customers.
In a press release on the West website, Hanson explained, “PhoneTree has been a pioneer in the automated messaging industry. We are excited to add the PhoneTree team, clients and channel partners to West as we continue to lead our industry and serve our clients.”
The acquisition gives customers a host of new technology options designed to improve organizational productivity and streamline communication. On top of a broad suite of multi-channel communication tools, West customers will gain access to unique solutions like:
- HIPAA-compliant automated text messaging and phone calling
- Appointment reminders
- EHR phone messaging
- Government and municipal alerts
- School notifications
- Automated calling for water and power utilities
